Brad Spitzbart

Research Computing Facilitator

Brad joined FAS Research Computing in March 2023.

Brad earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Valparaiso University in 1997. He
obtained his S.M. in Physical Sciences from the University of Chicago.

Brad began his career in Research Computing as a Research Programmer on the ICEBERG project at Stony Brook University, developing cyberinfrastructure for high performance computing for the large-scale automation and analysis of high-resolution satellite imagery for studies of biological, geological, or hydrological processes in polar regions. He then served as a Research Computing Facilitator at the University of Oklahoma. Prior to Stony Brook, he was on the Science Operations Team of the Chandra X-ray Observatory at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics for 16 years.

Outside of FASRC, Brad enjoys travel, home improvements, aviation, and family.
