Conte Center at Harvard

Understanding the BrainResearch Computing is a co-PI on a $9M grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. The grant supports the Conte Center at Harvard which is dedicated to basic neuroscience research that probes the developmental origins of mental illness. Conte Center scientists are pioneers in the diverse fields of brain plasticity, connectomics, genomic imprinting and super-resolution imaging.

Conte Center scientists collaborate with experts in bioinformatics to establish a paradigm for unraveling the alterations in neural circuits that underlie disorders such as autism, schizophrenia, anxiety and depression. Faculty in the Conte Center have appointments across the University, including the Departments of Molecular and Cellular BiologyChemistry and Chemical BiologyPhysics, and the Center for Brain Science. Research Computing along with the Informatics & Scientific Applications Group, provide Conte Center researchers with computational and bioinformatics support.
