Containerization Workshop (University-Wide)

In this introductory workshop, we will create a Docker container.  Docker containers are like a virtual sandbox, with everything that a software application needs to run. Containers make sharing software among teams easy.  No more worrying about dependency versions or operating system compatibility!  With a docker container, collaborators share the same software environment, freeing them to focus on other things. The workshop will be interactive.  We will make a Docker container together.

  • Audience: University-wide
  • Pre-Requisites: Basic familiarity with software, such as an introductory computer science course.  Participants should be able to use an integrated development environment (IDE) or a command-line text editor, such as Vim/Nano/Emacs, without assistance.
